@cherokeepatti yes but so far my trips to the gym are paying off and they haven't caught me yet
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@LilPrincess When I was little and living on the farm I got stung by a wasp. After that I would get excited any time I was near a bee and started jumping around flapping my arms and screaming. I would get stung every time. My uncle told me not to do it but I was really scared. I don’t know how many times I got stung but eventually learned not to do it.

@cherokeepatti Oh see I learned the hard way on most things. I'm highly allergic to bees and wasp. Once when I was 5 i hit some metal stands at the park after being told not to do. I got stung by 25 of them and learned my lesson not to ever do that again.

I feel like it is finally spring when the first baby leaves unfold on the trees. They are almost yellow, because their green is so new. The forsythia bloom at the same time, and the daffodils. THEN I feel like celebrating the beauty of all the flowers.

The Texas wildflower bloom kicks it off

Then, when I see the Mesquites start to bud, I know winter is gone.

@TexChik Too bad it’s not safe to tiptoe through the Blue Bonnets there.

@cherokeepatti not without your snake boots

I would have said a red breasted robin, but apparently they are around in the winter too, they just behave differently.
The cherry trees start blooming

I don't know. It's getting harder and harder to tell as it seems like Spring seemingly doesn't exist with each passing year. But I suppose I'd say when it starts to get into the 50s and stays there for more than just a week.
daffodils come to life and my forsythia bloom their bright yellow flowers

Twisters and Blisters.

When I have to do this every spring. In the ginseng world we call this closing the gardens.

We are pulling the fabric over to protect the plants from direct sunlight.
