Is there a problem with freezing meat? Or freezing cooked food to eat at a later date?

I'm wondering if this is a poor person thing or something.

I generally buy in bulk to save money since I need to budget, and it saves me time not having to shop for food daily or weekly.

Is this not normal?

We do this all the time because often (as an example) we will make a large pot of refried beans. Cannot eat them all so we will often place several tubs of them in the freezer for later.

Just make sure you let the food (covered, but not sealed) cool to room temperature before you seal the lid and place them in the freezer.

We always thaw at room temp as well.
