Lazy supper with a French theme

Lazy supper (mostly) from tins: confit de canard, choucroute (yes, I know it’s inappropriate) and potatoes sautéed in duck fat

@Arantxa They are actually hotter than I expected but they grow surprisingly well here.

Confit de canard is an incredible dish. Very easy to cook as well 🙂
@SunshineGirl “Cook” is a bit of an exaggeration: put it in the oven until done :)
The best canard I ever ate was on vacation in the Dordogne

What is it ??
@losthorizons Confit de canard is preserved duck - slow cooked in its own fat. It sounds disgusting but is one of the most delicious things you will taste.

It is a speciality of south-west France (around Toulouse).
