Fun fact: Popeye the Sailor was once voiced by a woman

While the character was most prominently voiced by Jack Mercer for 40 years, others would fill in whenever Mercer couldn't make it for whatever reason. Among them was Mae Questel, who also voiced Olive Oyl and Betty Boop. Her rendition of Popeye can be heard @0:49 in the video below
