1st of May parades

@AceOfSpades Not on May 1st itself, on the first Monday in May. And though a Labour government introduced the early May bank holiday for political reasons I doubt if many people realise that. And it always rains!

@MartinII it does always rain. The only reason why we don't have it on the first, is because other than Good Friday and whatever day Christmas falls, we only have bank holidays on Mondays.

@AceOfSpades Yes that's right. But the intended significance of May Day would be much more obvious if the holiday were always on May 1st.

@MartinII We don't tend to do things that make sense.
