I go whenever I need to. If I need a major shopping trip I go early in the day in the middle of the week.

there's the grocery store for everyday items, Aldi's for their specials, the Italian Market (a must), the butcher shop for my meats and the seafood market it I'm planning a fish meal
@saragoodtimes How they stay in business is a mystery, I get a small variety cheesecake from Walmart maybe every 15 to 18 months, they're about $8 or so, their large one is $14 when I was there yesterday.
@NativePortlander1970 but this is made fresh. store cheesecakes come in frozen and are defrosted on a as needed basis
@saragoodtimes The most I ever paid for a fresh cheesecake was at the Amish booth at the Boothwyn, PA farmer's market, it was $15 for a 9inch
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I get everything on Sunday mornings

By Thursday I have usually run out of a few things like eggs, milk, bread, fruit, and snacks for the kids. My boys eat a phenomenal amount of food
@Jenny1234 and what else do you do on Sundays
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@orioninthenight clean the house, laundry. I have a very full social life lolol
@Jenny1234 and do you buy any sweets at the grocery store?
baydog5555 · 70-79, F
THE PRICES ARE SO HIGH.i try to do with less but we go into panic mode if we run out of paper towels.YOU?
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@baydog5555 Paper towels is an absolute must! I rarely go shopping myself, because I'm cheap and get off brand products and it pisses my wife off.
baydog5555 · 70-79, F
@WizardofOz I KNOW.AND WE USE MORE OF CHEAP STUFFSO BOUNTY IS THE BEST.RIB EYES $13.OO LB.I WONDER WHO IS BUYING BEEF.EVEN BURGER IS SO HIGH.IF I BUY THE GR.BEEF WITH HIGH FAT,IT IS CHEAPER BUT SO MUCH IS FAT.BUT THEY MAKE THE BEST BURGERS.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@baydog5555 lol I remember when I bought the 72/28? Ground beef and tried making hamburgers on the grill! What a nightmare! It's definitely not meant for grilling.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Used to be a two to three times a week person because I’d always forget some essential item like coffee, but then Covid hit and I started planning my trips better. Now it’s once a week if I can carve out enough time. But if I’m not feeling all “peopley” I’ll stretch it out to two weeks.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
A few times a week at least
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Typically, once a week.
meggie · F
A few items about 3 times a week. We rarely waste any food and stock up on items that are on special. We never do a big shop though.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@meggie When I was single, I was the same. I would get the majority of stuff on the weekend but would wait on certain items that I would pick up during the week. Mainly, because I'm lazy and don't feel like hauling a ton of groceries at one time. Space it out!

WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@meggie Yes, I noticed the meats would go on sale after a while. I like beef tenderloin, I used to get it half off! You are right.
PatKirby · M
Once a week on Sundays online. I shop at two separate stores for best price on same items. Then I go thru the drive thru later that evening where they load groceries into the trunk.
Jonjdw · 46-50, M
Walmart right outside my workplace so not a big deal. So I go often. Plus 10 people in the house we need a lot of stuff. And family dollar is right by my house
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@Jonjdw that's cool! Our closest actual grocery store is 15 miles away.
Delivery every two weeks, longer sometimes because I’m an El Cheapo. 😄
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@OlderSometimesWiser So am I. That's why my wife rarely lets me go shopping by myself! She asks for very specific brands and items but I will buy the cheapest (Thinking I'm doing good!) But it pisses her off when I get home with nothing she asked for.
@WizardofOz I’m the same way. Store brands for almost everything until lack of quality proves otherwise. I’ve even read that for many items, name brands produce the product that goes under the store label.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Very infrequently as I hate it. I get a weekly internet delivery and am training my daughter to do the rest 🙂
exexec · 61-69, C
Twice a week. We don't plan our meals very well since it's just the two of us.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@exexec Twice a week isn't bad. I think that's probably the norm.
calicuz · 51-55, M
At least twice a week, the fridge nor freezer is that big.
Once a week. Sometimes every two weeks.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@Colonelmustardseed That's what I'd like to achieve.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Like once a week and we have a meal delivery service for 2 meals a week.
Convivial · 26-30, F
As needed... Living alone makes it simpler
Every other day.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@Gingerbreadspice You either by fresh or live close to a store. I have a friend that buys fresh seafood or other meats daily.
@WizardofOz I go for a big shop once or twice a week. I go to a convenience store nearly ever day because I run out of milk, bread, wine or I need to get lunch on the go or something. 😂
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I get sent once every three weeks or so lol.
Ducky · 31-35, F
Not as often as I should. I used to go every two weeks, but now it's considerably less than that because I hate doing it so much, I always put it off. I should really stop, though.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@Ducky Do you go without things you need? This last trip, she forgot bath soap, so she had to go back. Three times a week is too much but I couldn't imagine going less than once a week. Lol
Ducky · 31-35, F
@WizardofOz Not when I make a list. I always forget a bunch of stuff when I don't make a grocery list.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
[@Ducky when I was single, I forgot half the shit I needed when I had a list! Figure that one out.
2 to 3 times per week
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@BizSuitStacy That's our norm.
Riemann · 31-35, M
Around once in a week.
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
When I need to - usually every second week because that's when my daughter stays with me. Otherwise it's just me. I don't have a significant other.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@zonavar68 I don't think we'll ever get to that point! 😂
I wait until there's a single box of saltines, and condensed soup left in the pantry.

I hate it. The crowds, the budgeting, the same old meals.
Every two weeks; I got in the habit of having them delivered; surprisingly, it’s less expensive than paying Uber or cab fare to get to the store and back loaded down with groceries.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard I have actually ordered a couple times. I like it.
@bijouxbroussard Plus with delivery, no buying impulse items! 😄
@OlderSometimesWiser That’s right ! 😄
Once a week but i buy fruits, fresh milk and bread too during the week.
Tracos · 51-55, M
I have everything delivered once a week
Lilymoon · F
Every other day
bowman81 · M
Mostly once a week.
RedBaron · M
I don’t keep track.
chasingThursday · 36-40, M
Once a week
Azlotto · M
Every two weeks.
@Azlotto and do you buy any sweets?
Azlotto · M
@orioninthenight
do you buy any sweets
I do not. I don't care much for sweets.
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
once per week I think
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Usually one big shop a eeek and might go another time to get something fresh like bread, more milk, etc.
WizardofOz · 26-30, M
@iamonfire696 That's why we make more than one trip. Always run out of something unexpectedly.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@WizardofOz My kids eat a lot, I don’t know how they manage to eat so much lol.
caesar7 · 61-69, M
Two or three times a week
SandWitch · 26-30, F
I go once a week, usually on Thursdays. If my bananas start to ripen too much, then I make a stop for bananas on Tuesdays when I know the fresh bananas are delivered to the grocery store, but I only stop if I'm going by the store while on my way to somewhere else... I don't make a special trip for just bananas!
Whenever something is on sale, usually every seven days or so between Walmart, HyVee, and Fareway.
