My friend thinks he needs extensive therapy for stuff that happened so long ago.

I keep telling him he needs to stop talking about things over and over that happened like 30-35 years ago. And most of it isn't anything that should currently be affecting him. Like how his mom took away his radio once, or how he didn't like living in the country, or how his older sister moved out when she got married. It's so annoying hearing him dwell on these things every single day

Let him see a therapist. He may have some deep seated issues for him to address, so that he can begin to heal and recover.
