Me explaining to my children that tablets didn’t exist when I was little

And neither did Kids YouTube, and that I had to know the time any shows I liked came on to watch them on tv

My daughter: “that sounds boring!”

Hahaha

Show them an old telephone and see how they react 😉
@YMITheWayIM The corner pay phone, with silver stacked on top.

Lol. I would’ve said “But in a way, things were a lot simpler.”

Tablets out, imagination in: the schools that shun technology
This article is more than 8 years old
Parents working in Silicon Valley are sending their children to a school where there’s not a computer in sight – and they’re not alone

@therighttothink50 I think balance is key… I would never let my kids just hang on the tablet all day. We play outside and they have plenty of toys and things they can pretend with or create and imagine

I had a similar talk with my nephew when he was about 8 or 9.

But then I explained to him we were allowed to ride our bikes to the play ground and store alone and he was shocked. Totally shocked.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@MethDozer I told her I spent most my time outside
MethDozer · M
@WaryWitchWandering yeah, I told my nephew it was like the movies he likes a lot. Like The Sandlot, stand by me, and Goonies and such where the kids could kinda just be out and nobody thought anything of it.

@MethDozer Remember this? You can show your nephew in case he needs proof.

You should tell her about land lines and no caller ID
