Pro tip: You can be completely incompetent at your job and you still won't get fired as long as you have a good attitude.

Speaking from personal experience. Your mileage may vary.

Know why that is? Because the paperwork involved with terminating someone is a pain; and the long process of onboarding a new employee is even worse.

@come2gether God, I love inefficient bureaucracies.

That's true where I worked. If you were a swell guy who was quick with the jokes you were taken care of.

In the case of the U.K. Post Office executives who were responsible for the prosecution of over 700 postmasters on false charges, (all currently in the process of having their prison sentences overturned) the executives were incompetent AND had a bad attitude. And they got bonuses on top of their exorbitant salaries as well. Happy days.
Probably. Opposite way for me, I was competent at my job but had a bad attitude. I still lasted 15 years.

@Gingerbreadspice Hahahahaha! “Lasted”!
For some reason that tickled my sense of humour 😂
@Oneofthestormboys I was finally fired after 15.5 years.

@Gingerbreadspice I got fired from a sales job because the company car they gave me didn’t have any water in the radiator, and the engine blew. Still, never mind 😂

Or you could just work for the government.
